This postdoctoral job is available in connection with the European Commission-funded SiC4Grid project and the study group “EMI/EMC in Power Electronics.” Candidates for this position must hold PhD-level credentials in a pertinent field of study.

A post in Intelligent Control for Self-adapting Power Electronics to Maintain Future Power Grid Integrity is up for an appointment at the Faculty of Engineering and Science, AAU Energy, and it will become available on or around March 1, 2023. The post is open for a maximum of 2.5 years.

This post is in Aalborg, one of two campuses that AAU Energy maintains.

The goal is to be a global leader in both research and research-based training for the next generation of energy engineers. AAU Energy employs over 300 people from a variety of countries, 24 of whom work in administration. Additionally, AAU Energy often hosts 50 to 70 guest researchers from other countries. We have a vast and world-class workshop and laboratory facilities where research and innovation are carried out in direct partnership with industry to a significant extent. Our research and teaching are among the very top in the world in the subject of energy.

The postdoc will be located in the section for Applied Power Electronic Systems and the position is given in connection with the SiC4Grid project, which is supported by the European Commission and the research group “EMI/EMC in Power Electronics.”

The fields of research will be low- to medium-fidelity modeling of SiC power modules and digital twin modeling of SiC-based power converters, including modeling and analysis of electromagnetic interference (EMI). The primary areas of study will be the co-design optimization of SiC-based power modules for MV converter applications (MMC and SST) in the direction of an increased lifetime and decreased cost.
