Acceptable Courses or Subjects:
- The scholarship will be awarded for the MA in Medical Anthropology and Mental Health or the MRes in Social Anthropology.
Admissible Criteria: To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must fulfill the following requirements:
- For the MA in Medical Anthropology and Mental Health:
- Hold a minimum 2:1 bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or a related subject, OR health sciences such as medicine, psychology, nursing, or social work.
- Possess a strong research project idea that utilizes ethnographic methods to comprehend an issue related to mental health.
- For the MRes in Social Anthropology:
- Hold a minimum 2:1 bachelor’s or master’s degree in Anthropology.
- Have a robust research project idea that employs ethnographic methods.
Preference may be given to:
- Candidates with lived experience of working in or accessing mental health care as a professional or service user.
- Candidates from underrepresented groups, including racialized and minoritized groups.

- MA in Medical Anthropology and Mental Health: Apply via Taught Masters applications.
- MRes in Social Anthropology: Apply via the Doctoral school.
- Complete the scholarship application by 12:00 PM (midday UK local time) on 31 May 2024, using the online application form.
Scholarship Benefits
Each full-time scholarship covers tuition fees for the academic year 2024/25. For part-time students, funding will cover tuition fees for the academic years 2024/25 and 2025/26.
